TCS to hire 30,000 professionals
India's second largest Information Technology player Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has indicated that it may recruit as many as 30,000 professionals in the next financial year. The IT major is very optimistivc about the outlook of the industry in the coming financial year, keeping in mind the change in the economic climate; not just in India but globally too.
S. Mahalingam, the TCS Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director, said to the media that as forecasted by TCS, the previous two quarters have been good for the IT industry on the whole. He added that the company is confident the growth will continue in this quarter too. They are expecting if the growth in this quarter will be better than the growth during the economic boom.
Riding on this optimism, the company will also be giving decent pay hikes to its employees.
On the question of the percentage of increment to be given, Mahalingum said he is not at the liberty to divulge the number. A formal announcement regarding the same is expected to be made by the company in the month of April.
But as per the market grapewine, the hike is expected to be within the regular industry standard bracket.
